Student Leadership in Social Action
Students have leadership opportunities within the program by becoming a Social Action Leader (SAL) in their senior year or serving on the Social Action Student Advisory Board (SASAB). SALs work with First Academics in building their understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and what it means to engage in service in a Sacred Heart context. SASAB members work with the Director of Social Action to plan morning assemblies and other programming for the day. Additionally, there are Reflection Leaders who are charged with supporting student and faculty reflection time on Social Action days because, without reflection, service becomes simply another activity.
